What's the difference beteeen being predictable and being dependable?

I've been called everything from eccentric to psychotic, but never
predictable. I wonder if that's good or bad.

284.4Consistent vs. Predictable?TSG::MCGOVERNThu Apr 16 1987 17:505
"Consistency is the hallmark of mediocre minds."
(said either by Oscar Wilde or Oliver Wendell Holmes [which
is quite a wide range, to be sure.])

I, too, think the quote in .4 originated with Mr. Emerson. It's also
not just consistency, but "a foolish consistency."

It's a quote often brandished as a weapon by technical writers trying
to defend their work against editors who want the writers to change the
structure of half the lists in the book just so they'll match the
    other half....

...And the foolish consistency is not the "hallmark" of little minds,
     but the "hobgoblin" of them.

Oliver Wendall Homes did use that statement when referring to Steve
Dallas and is inept ability to always park his Corvette in the
    handicapped spaces.....

If you know me well, you know I'm 100% predictable.

If not, you know I'm not.

Does that mean I'm boring once you get to know me?
