Hey that's true Kerry.
It's also true that alot of people refer to their "friend's

Feeling agitated?

Why don't you people let it rest? I think people have a problem
noting when they don't even come close to discussing the base note!

RE: 0 I enjoy reading notes, but don't feel addicted to them. Usually
read only. Every once in awhile a note gets and keeps my attention.

| I'm not addicted to noting, I can quit anytime. In fact, I
hate noting; as soon as I finish writing this reply, I'm going to
exit this conference and delete all my conferences from my notebook.
Better yet, I'm going to delete my notebook - hell, while I'm at it,
I'll just remove the VAXnotes utility from this system - all my systems,
in fact, I'll remove it from the entire area 7...then again, why stop
there? I'll delete all traces of VAXnotes from the company and purge
the world of this terrible evil!!!

the inconvenience of having to hold this gigantic piece of
plastic to my ear for (what sometimes seem like endless)

Does anyone know whether you can hook-up an operator
headset to a regular phone? Do they even sell such a thing
to mere retail consumers such as I? If not, then how about
getting one through work?

| We're getting into telephones again?
Yes, you can buy operator-style headsets for regular phones. I've
seen them at Lechmere, Ann&Hope, and in various mail-order
catalogs. I bought a cradle headrest for my phone so at least I
don't have to hold it all the time.
I agree with the previous reply that says as long as your noting
doesn't interfere with your normal life, it's harmless. However,
many people note instead of working, and this can be hazardous
to your career.

| I think reading notes is a lot like life in general. If you have
reached all your goals and have no desire to expand your interests
then life could quite possibly get dull.
I don't foresee ever cathing up on all the entries in my notebook
nor do I care to, and I don't intend to ever learn or experience
evrything that I'm even currently interested in, as well as whatever
the furture holds.
I enjoy reading work and non-work related conferences both of which
I try to do off-hours. (Excluding weekend evenings, usually!)

This is the version of "Addicted to Love" Here without permission....
Addicted to Note
You log in, unplug the phone
Your time, is not your own
You type NOTES, it paints the screen
Your finger jumps to "next unseen"
Your work's due, your time is tight
But you've got notes to read and write
You quote a quote, or state a "fact"
There ain't no time or need for tact
You might think that you're immune to the flames, oh no.
You spend your time replying and extracting those quotes
You're gonna have to face it, you're addicted to Notes
The fact is that you just don't care
You've got to NOTE, because it's there
They know your name, but not your face
They know your node, but not their place

Talk about noting addiction:
I log in from home every night (and several times).
When I was in Cleveland on vacation, I visited the DEC site and

And I would not want to work for any other co. except DEC because
there is nothing like Notes in other cos.

Computer 'worm' Cripples Digital Facility
Nashua, NH (AP) - A computer 'worm' infiltrated Digital's Spitbrook facility,
bringing the sophisticated computer systems to a virtual halt. The Spitbrook
facility is the computer giant's flagship of software engineering and
geek-like human replicas.
The virus entered the computer systems in the early hours of the weekend and
proceeded to multiply itself in the intestines of the computer systems like a
Fenway frank. The symptoms were similar; severe discomfort, followed by
cycles of nausea and purging.
A source who insisted on anonymity assessed the damage. "Imagine being on the
world's largest private network, with access to information throughout the
world, some of it even work related, and suddenly, out of nowhere, you're
forced to do your job and even communicate with other people."
Indeed, Health Services reports that many engineers are suffering from "Notes
Withdrawal", a usually benign disorder that can become fatal if left
untreated. Symptoms include increased productivity, interest in other people,
and a more balanced life.
