My, what an incredibly small world you live in!
I disagree completely. The world is not composed merely of "waiters"
and "weightees." (BTW, was the word change deliberate on your part?
You imply that those are "waited" upon are merely "weights." :^) ).
There are people who fit into those categories, though.
Waiters, in your definition, are willing, make that compelled, to serve
others at the whim and fancy of the others (weightees) and seem to be
stuck with the weightees who are not even willing to serve themselves.
Both are such extremes that I wonder if either kind can be happy with life.
To answer your unwritten question, Kerry, I tend towards being a "waiter,"
although I would absolutely refuse to "wait" upon a "weightee." I am
more than willing to share the "weight" and the "wait." In other words,
I want to be waited upon as much as I want to do the waiting. I am
not willing to do just one or the other.
I absolutely disagree with the statement that "waiters" in the sense
that you describe them can be anywhere near "healthy."

Well, I suppose the weightees exist because there exists people to wait
upon them!
Are there people like that in your life? Is there something you want
to do about them?
Are there others out there who also have to deal with demanding,
inconsiderate people? How do you handle them? Do you just ignore them?
Or perhaps you are in a situation where you have no immediate choice but
to deal with them, such as they are?
Me, I'd like just to ignore them and their demands, or change my situation
so that I have that choice.

What a nasty, shallow world we live in.

| I disagree. I think it is a rich and beautiful world we live
in. There are the occasional toads inhabitting it, but overall
it is wonderful.

I agree with you, Jim. The world is a wonderful place. Yeah, there
are toads, but sometimes that makes our choices and our appreciation
for wonderful things that much easier.

| It's whatcha make out of it. If you chose to see shallow, then
shallow it is. Sometimes it takes a little closer scrutiny to
find the beauty, but it's there. If I didn't always look for
it, I think I'd go insane. However, on the other side of the
coin, if all things in life were awe-inspiring and profound,
we'd soon tire of reaching and falling short...
