166.1 | Typical, or STEREOtypical??? | MMO03::PNELSON | A very, very happy lady | Sun Dec 07 1986 12:07 | 8 |
| I think if the question read "What is the STEREOtypical woman/man"
there might be an answer. But the question as stated is meaningless,
because there is no such thing. I guess both sexes have some traits
that are often found, but I'd hate to think that someone thought
of me as a "Typical Woman" instead of a unique person in my own
right...

| Where I went to school, calling someone a TRG (Typical Rice Girl) was
an insult implying a rather studious, plain girl with little or no
social skills. Maybe the term came out of the frustration on the guys
part (there were about 3.14 guys per girl). You certainly didn't
use the term about anybody you cared about.
P.S. They actually sold T-shirts in the bookstore reading on the front
"I go to Rice, I must be smart"
and on the back:
"also Horny"

| What would you think about somebody whose aspiration was to become
typical?
