    God, sounds like me!

If you care - you are there!

I think your situation turned out well, and Larry if lucky to have
a friend like Susan (did I get the names right?)

Sorry Joe, (re:.1) I don't agree with you.

And IF you married Susan, you might be fightin with her
    too.

Gads, all these pessimists! But I agree with Mike in .3 somewhat
    - the "grass is greener" syndrome is all too common. Still, marriage
and kids have their own rewards, but one always takes some risks.
I, for one, think the risks are worth it.

I hope "Susan" doesn't really think that just because she mainly
hears of the problems her friends are having it means that marriage
and kids are guaranteed trouble. I doubt that her other friends
stop her in the hallway and say "By the way, my marriage is just
great and our kids are super! Bye!"

This conference has a similar problem - many if not most of the
entries here are about problems - and a reader might get the impression
that relationships are always painful. It ain't so - it's just
that we don't go out of our way to talk about it when it works.

Pete Seeger once said that the reason there are so many songs about
unrequited love in proportion to "happy" love songs is that when
people have requited love they've got better things to do than sit
around and write a song about it.
