1243.3physicalpage parameter may be too smallPROXY::SADINFri Jan 24 1997 16:2912
    I believe you might need to up your sysgen parameter PHYSICAL PAGES
    If the system disk was built with a much smaller amount of memory that
    paramenter is too small for the 2 gig of memory and it does not auto
    adjust itself. We ran into this when doing work on support of 3.5 gig
    memory on vaxes.

    The version of console you have if 4.0 is three revs back. There is a
    version 4.3 available. Look at note 674.6.

1243.4Thanks!TIMAST::HUGHESSat Jan 25 1997 21:0613
    Thanks for the replies. This systemn is a 3rd party maintained system
    and the 3rd party paid us to come in a get their memory installed. As
    it turned out, the system they were trying to install the 2g memory in
    was at a firmware rev of 1.1-something. On top of that they had bent a
    half dozen or so backplane pins when they installed the module.

    I upgraded the firmware to 4.3 and straightened out the backplane pins
    and everything is just fine.

    We looked good so maybe we'll get some more business out of it.

    Thanks,
    Dave
