1613.0. "6410 STATENTSVD Powerfail problem" by TOPTEN::AVERBACH () Tue Apr 22 1997 15:19
We have customer with a vax 6410 who has been experiencing
intermittent "STATENTSVD" bugchecks. This bugcheck says "STATE NOT
SAVED DURING A POWERFAIL". The problem can occur once a week
or go away for as long as 2 months. The system always restarts by
itself and when set not to reboot, the engineer who went out said he
did not see anything wrong. We have been troubleshooting this as a
power problem. The problem is definetly in the box since the input
power was swapped with another system as well as having a dranetz
installed.
All power supplies have been replaced, pal box, ac input, xtc,
front panel, cpu board, air flow sensor, temp sensor, and the last thing
swapped was the XMI cardcage and the cables that go from the xmi backplane
to both bi backplanes. It has not gone down again, yet.
The question, can a module such as memory, dwmba/a or /b or any bi
options cause the system to powerfail in this way?
Any input would be appreciated!!!
Joe
