Why was the "rezone the Mill" proposal withdrawn, and what does this mean for the new company that was planning to move in? ****

It's better if you come to the meeting :-) Basically the new tenant, Digital, and the town were unable to get all the "ducks in line" for a rezoning to be approved at this town meeting. It appears that at least a few months of work remain and everybody seems interested in making sure that the correct decisions are made and that proper information and reflection time is given. [How novel...] Withdrawing article 16 was the best choice for the state of affairs. By creating the district (which we did last night), the citizens of the Town of Maynard signal to the investors, etc. that we are interested in the new tenants and would like to see what they are proposing. It allows plans to proceed, etc. towards a rezoning vote in May (if we're lucky). A 1 minute summary of a 1 hour discussion. - dave
