I just replaced my hot water heater tank and as a result
have the old one sitting in my basement.
My question is How do I get rid of it?
Is there any place in Maynard where I can dispose of it?

Take it to the town recycling center on the first Saturday of the
month. The gates will be open and you can drop the heater among the
other junked appliances. I believe fees are only required for
refrigerators (because of freon reclaimation).
