Maynard Schools Band director Rick Cain is organizing a musical event
this Saturday. He calls it a Christmas Carol Jam. It's a 'jam' in the
sense that, like a jazz jam session, the performance is open to anyone
who wants to join in, with unpredictable results.
So, you are invited to pick up your musical instrument and bring it to
Memorial Park (at the intersection of Nason and Summer streets) on
Saturday, Dec 11th, from noon to 1 PM to play Christmas carols. Mr.
Cain will provide music, chairs, and stands. High school students, and
an assortment of adults of varying talent are anticipated to attend.
If you don't play an instrument, drop by and listen. Take a break from
shopping, bring the kids, and enjoy the music.
Superintendent Don Kennedy is bringing his tuba. (He also plans to
march in the Christmas parade, which has been rescheduled for this
Sunday, Dec. 12 at 2 PM, because of the inclement weather last weekend.)
WAVM will record the event. It should be fun.
