| Pat Whalen is going to coordinate DEC turkeys for the Maynard Food
Pantry.
You can either arrange with Pat (897-8092) to bring your turkey to her
house, or get in touch with me (dtn 223-6112 at PKO3, home 897-6160) to
get your turkey card to me, and I'll pick up the bird.

| Steve, I work in TAY. Will you still be able to use my card at your
site or should I pick up the turkey myself?

Yes - in past years I've picked up a dozen or more turkeys with other
people's cards. The people passing out the turkeys don't care.
> or should I pick up the turkey myself?
Your choice - either way works.
Have a good Thanksgiving,

407.6 | Too late for donation? | 19176::IGNACHUCK | Native Maynardian | Thu Dec 17 1992 23:18 | 9 |
| Steve, today one of my recently TFSO'd employees called to say that
he had missed the turkey pickup and he asked if it was too late to
donate it to charity.
I assume that it's too late, but if not, I have his card. If it's
not too late, to whom should I give the card?
Regards,
Frank

Unfortunately, it is too late. I checked into this, and found that the
turkey delivery here at PKO was the last one, and there is no other
way to obtain a bird.
By the way, the Maynard Food Pantry now has a freezer. All the donated
turkeys will be packaged with stuffing, sweet potatoes, etc., for a
full dinner, and delivered soon.
thanks folks,
-Steve

| The Maynard Food Pantry is running low on staple items. These include
canned fruit and vegetables, cereal, juice, canned meat, tuna, soup,
pancake mix, syrup, peanut butter, sugar, tea, cocoa, pudding, laundry
detergent, diapers and toilet paper.
The Food Pantry is located in the basement of the old Coolidge School
building on Bancroft Street. There is a parking lot next to the
building; you can go around to the door in back. You can bring a
donation to the Food Pantry on Fridays from 10 am until noon, or just
drop it off at one of the collection boxes around town.

407.9 | Does the Maynard Food Pantry want clothing items too? | WHIZER::NEWMAN | Alpha Personal Systems Marketing | Fri Feb 19 1993 17:01 | 3 |
| Some time ago I heard that in addition to food, the Maynard Food Pantry also was
in need of clothing, etc. for people. Is this true? If so, I might have a good
source of good quality, used clothing.

407.10 | DROP OFF HOURS FOR WORKING PEOPLE | AKOCOA::THORP | | Mon Feb 22 1993 14:01 | 5 |
| What are the chances of convincing the Food Pantry to open for drop off
on Saturday? I work, so Friday A.M. is out of the question and I don't
shop (grocery) in Maynard, Stow, or at Purity.

Yes, the Food Pantry does distribute clothing, but they don't have much space.
They are looking for winter clothes now: coats, hats, scarfs, boots, good
sweaters. They would like to follow the seasons, and have clothing
appropriate for the time of year.

The problem is that the Food Pantry doesn't control the building, so they
can't be open on Saturday. I talked to Mary Brannelly (as always) who
suggests that you might use the collection boxes at the Maynard Library,
the Post Office, Town Hall, and the Middlesex Bank on Nason Street. Or you
can call Mary at 897-8340 and work something out.

| Steve,
Would you know if the food pantry is in need of another refrigerator?
Our second fridge recently went dead on us, so we bought a new one and
were planning to take the one from the kitchen and put it in the
basement. My wife read last night that a couple of people have donated
refigerators to the food pantry recently and said we should see if they
needed another one. The one I'm speaking of has no problems, is 12-15
years old and is frost-free. Let me know, then I can make arrangements
to drop it off sometime, if it's needed.

| .13> Would you know if the food pantry is in need of another refrigerator?
They're not sure.
The problem is that the Stow Food Pantry may close, so Maynard's may
take up the slack. If so, the Maynard Food Pantry would need more
floor space, and they would like to have another refrigerator. If they
do not expand, they don't have room for another refrigerator.
It's all very much up in the air right now.
Steve, I suggest that contact Mary Brannelly at 897-8340, so you two
can keep informed. She was hoping that you could hold on to your old
refrigerator until the Food Pantry figures out their needs.
By the way, there was a good article in the Beacon about the Maynard
Food Pantry. The article features Digital's own Joe Deramo, who showed
up to donate.
