In case you missed it in the Beacon, the Will Dodd Community Center
is encountering some financial difficulties.
They have set a goal of raising $100K by some date (I forget exactly
when, but it's soon) with the prospect of closing their doors to
re-organize if they fail to meet their target.
I believe they are holding a special meeting of the board of directors
this Tuesday at the center (though the Beacon indicated that the
meeting would be at the Town Hall, which is their usual meeting place).
They are looking for volunteers for new board members, which I gather
function in large part as solicitors of donations.
Aside from buying my Christmas tree and dropping it off again at
Will Dodd, I've not had any involement with the center. I'm kind
of surprised there wasn't already a discussion in this conference
of this. Is the community going to lose something vital here?
