288.0. "Planning Board" by AKOCOA::LESAGE () Tue May 07 1991 15:07

    If you voted yesterday you noticed no one was running for the vacant
    opening on the Maynard Planning Board. Dave Grimley the current
    chairman of the board is stepping down after more than 6 years of
    service (current term for the planning board is 5 years). If anyone
    who is interested in being on the planning board you can contact me or
    come to one of our meetings. We meet on the second and fourth Tuesday
    nights in the town hall. Our next meeting will be 5-14-91 at 8:00 P.M..

    RE. 288.0- you may want to run that by Town Counsel before you appoint
    someone. In case you missed it, the Charter says that all vacancies
    in previously elected boards are to be filled by the appointing
    authority. Since nobody ran, the office is vacant, and subject to
    appointment by the Selectmen.

    The Maynard Planning Board is holding a public hearing tonight in the
    Maynard High School auditorium. This hearing is for the proposed
    zoning change for the mill area. The meetng starts at 7:00 p.m. and
    Franklin Life Care Inc. will present their proposal to the town. This
    is a good time for the town residents to hear what this new company
    wants to do with the mill and how it will affect the town.
