I'm really enjoying getting to know Maynard's ins and outs,
but where do you all do your grocery shopping?

Store 24! :-)
No, seriously, there are three supermarkets all within about a mile and
a half of downtown Maynard. Victory Supermarket on Rte. 62 (Powder Mill
Rd.), Purity Supreme on Rte. 62 in Acton, and Star Market on Rte. 117 in
Stow. Everyone has their preferences as to which is better. If you're
a coupon friek, both Victory and Star offer double coupons. If you
want 17 varieties of Grey Poupon, Purity is probably the best choice.

FINAST on Route 111 in Acton (near intersection with Route 2) also has double coupons. Purity Supreme and Finast both issue check-cashing cards which allow you to do your shopping, write checks for more than your purchase, and get cash back. Finast gives you up to $25 back, Purity up to $50 back with their card. I like the bakery department at Purity Supreme. Also check out Donelan's on Route 27 in South Acton. They're relatively small but sometimes I find things there that the other stores are all out of. Triple-A in Gould's Plaza, Route 2A, Acton, has the best meat department of the above, in my opinion. They also feature Little Tikes toy shopping carts which my kids *love* wheeling around the store. They deliver your grocery bags to a drive-up station outside the store, and load them into your car. They are a little far from downtown Maynard, however. | |||||

There's always Idylwilde in West Acton. It's more of an overgrown
farmstand than a super market, but when you need 24 different
kinds of mustard, or fresh basil, they're pretty good.

i agree that the triple a has the best meat market around. their fish
is pretty good too, captain marden's or something like that. he also
sells the fish in donelan's that is closer to maynard. you might want
to try the maynard meat market for speciality meat. they sell swordfish
and veal cutlets that are inexpensive and very fresh. the idylwilde
farms IMO is very expensive but for that special variety and special
vegetables you will not find a fresher store in the area. i believe
that their is a note regarding purity supreme and their meats you might
want to check out. i find that the victory on 62 does not have fresh
vegies. star market in stow has some great deals but i have found
their meats to be very inconsistent. good luck!
