| Tuesday, Oct 31st. I believe last week's Beacon said 6:00 to 8:30PM.
I'd check today's paper to be certain of the hours.

As it should be (I'm tired of holidays getting "rearranged" for
administrative convenience).
However ... it may be damp; forecasts hint of intermittent showers.
So if you have goblins, waterproof 'em...

Do they postpone new years?

| I've never heard of trick or treat being postponed and I will
probably just make the best of it by driving my kids to relatives
if it's real lousy out.

| There are lots of communities that "rearrange" Halloween for various
purposes, say to make it happen on weekends or not, on a school night
or not, and so on. Some places offer public Halloween parties on Halloween
night to dissuade Trick or Treating, so kids (and their parents) go to the
parties and still trick or treat the night before.
So yes, if one's town indulges in these exercises, they can "postpone"
or otherwise reschedule Halloween.
While I think such practices are silly (as noted earlier in someone's
reply "do they postpone new year's"), I see the logic in controlling
or at least predicting large numbers of small strangely costumed pedestrians
roaming the streets.

| Hallowe'en was not postponed. As a person who, in costume, was
drafted to accompany two boys -- one aged 7; the other, aged 5 --
as they Did their Hallowe'en Thing, I'd say that the rain abbreviated
things considerably. We covered a few blocks (maybe 20 homes);
I saw about a dozen goblinoids, and then the heavens opened. I
got both youngsters back in time.
And our house had one solitary trick-or-treater. :-(

| My kids had their best trick or treat time yet! I sent them out
early,as I knew it was going to rain - at 5:30 (with dad). They did two blocks
instead of the usual one, and with the small showing of kids, they got loads
of candy from several houses! They came home only a little wet.
They also got quite a bit of change for
UNICEF. My son made a funny comment when they returned, you can see he's
picking up information about life from observing his parents: One man
commented that he had no money for their UNICEF boxes, so he would give
them an extra candy bar; my son said to me that his wife must have had
all his money!
Happy treating!
