169.0. "Mill Tour - help needed" by CIMNET::HERON () Thu Aug 31 1989 10:55

    My father is coming to visit for a week and I'd like to give him a
    tour of the mill. However, I don't know where to take him in the
    mill and what I should show him. The mill has always been my
    nemesis. Any suggestions? Pls. give floor and pole number if
    possible.

    Also, will I run into any problems, taking him to the mill? I don't
    work at that site. I thought I could just get a visitors pass from the
    guard at the door.

169.1Contact for Mill ToursSAFETY::SEGALLen Segal, MLO6-1/U30, 223-7687Thu Aug 31 1989 15:537
     Contact Bill (ASABET::BHUGHES) Hughes, MLO4-1, 223-2700 for an
     organized Mill Tour. I understand that he runs them almost daily
     and they take 1-1 hours. Usually there will be a group of people
     getting the tour, so if you are in luck schedule-wise, your Father
     will be able to get the official tour.

169.2Bill Hughes is Great!!SENIOR::IGNACHUCKFri Sep 01 1989 09:3511
    Bill Hughes is the man to call. I haven't worked in the Mill in
    over 15 years and had an opportunity to take a Bill Hughes tour
    in July. It was excellent! What impressed me most was how clean
    the Mill is these days, especially the Town Clock Tower (yes, he
    takes you up to the top). I even found where I autographed the
    Clock face in 1966.........Bill takes obvious pride in his work
    and in the Mill, and told me that giving tours was not a job but
    rather a joy.  It showed.

    Makes a Townie proud! By all means do the tour with Bill. He has
    a slick brochure and a little Town Clock pin as handouts too.
