| I'm looking for the same guy, to haul away some carpet, wood, paneling,
etc. Looks like we have a lot of business to offer.

| JOET::HOME_WORK has a well-organized collection of contractor
recommendations. Topics in which you might find junk men include 2005
(carpenters/handypersons) and 2027 (misc. contractors). If you don't
see anyone that suits your needs there, ask - in a REPLY to a suitable
existing topic, _not_ in a new topic.

| a friend of ours used someone from the Action Unlimited. The name in
the ad is Sunshine or something like that. about $40 for a 5-yard load,
as I recall. we're going to try them, too.
speaking of junk, will the regular trash-haulers take an old electric
range? (or does anyone want one?)

They hauled away my old range five years ago. Of course, it has
to be at the curb.

Generally, the Trash folks will take away one large item per
week. I would not stake my life on it, because sometimes they
do stange things. You might want to check with the Board of
Health to see if there are weight limits.

| A yes vote for Sunshine - shingles are gone 24 hrs later!
It's a small operation, but he was on time and cheap.
The trash folks will still take one large item/week. My
next door neighbor put out his hot water heater last week,
and they just chucked it in with everything else.

| Maynard will probably have to start a "Permit" system for large
items soon. The cost is increasing.
I'm in favor of permits now, even if there was no fee. I've had too
many people from Stow(where they have to pay) brag to me about how they
bring their stuff to Maynard, dump it curbside, and let us get rid of it
for them for free!
Hoo, boy! Friends and neighbors! Sometimes I'd even pay to dump
them!
