145.1 | compost pile | THOTH::FILZ | DTN 297-6970 | Mon Apr 10 1989 09:10 | 8 |
| The compost pile in on Summer Street just after the bad turn heading
to Stow.
However the pile is not open for use. It is intended to be used
for leaf composting in the fall and is runned by the Board of Health.
I suggest you call the Board of Health and see if they have any
suggestions.

If they do let you add stuff, don't be suprised if it's just the
leaves. We were involved in the pilot, and we were only supposed to
put leaves in the bags.
I hear that next year, it will be open to the whole town.

| You want to talk to Jerry Collins. He's the Health Agent, the
full-time employee of the Board of Health. Nice guy, too.

| Ummm, if the town won't accept your compostable material, and if it's
free from herbicides, insecticides, and fertilizers, I'd be happy to
take it off your hands for my own compost file. Contact me by MAIL if
you'd like to pursue the matter.

Hey, wait a minute! The bad turn on Summer St. is *in* Stow (it's
called Pompositticut St in Stow.) I think the Maynard compost pile
must be before the bad turn, otherwise it would be in my yard. I
hope people don't get mixed up with this because with two voracious
horses I have PLENTY of compost material!

I think the author of .1 meant the corner on Summer St. as you're
going up the hill towards Stow. The condominium complex is on the
left at the top of the hill. The left you take to get to the compost
pile is just before the condominium complex.

That's up by the water tower then, right?
