There will be a Jazz/Folk Festival on Saturday, October 1st in Memorial Park, Maynard, from 11 AM to 3 PM. The park is on Summer Street, across from the Fine Arts Theatre. The event is free to the public. The rain location will be in the Assabet Village Marketplace at the corner of Main and Nason Streets. (Rain appears to be a good possibility.) The schedule is as follows: 11:00 Eric Schoenberg, guitarist 12:00 Dr. Heckle & Mr. Jive, a duo combining swing and folk music 1:00 The Dennis Pearne Trio, a folk-rock trio 2:00 Workingman's Jazz Band Note that the Workingman's Jazz Band included DEC employees Bob Johnson, on guitar, and Steve Ruzich on trombone, among other local luminaries. This festival is supported in part by the Arts Lottery as administered by the Maynard Arts Council and was organized by Jazz/Folk Productions, 897-7627.
