Don't know what your qualifications are for modern, but I've
been going to Joel Karp for 23 years and have only had one
cavity in 28 years.
I think like a doctor, you'll just have to check everyone out
and find out who your most comfortable with.

| I changed to Dr Damars when he opened his office at 40 Main St.
He's good, and has appointments for working people; that is, during
lunch hour, after 5, etc. His # is 897-5693.

106.3 | DR. KROWNE | NPOVAX::FIRTH | | Wed Jul 06 1988 22:07 | 7 |
| We have been going to Dr. Krowne on Nason Street
for the past three years. He is especially good at
making appointments convenient for people working
at DEC in the Maynard area and has some evening appointments.
You can also get in to see him easily if it is a emergency.

| Try Bolton Dental Assoc. I know it's not Maynard, but they are on
Rt. 117 in Bolton. Been going there for 10 years and recommend
them. The Doctors are Dr. Mancini and Dr. Freidus.

I second trying the Bolton Dental Associates. I have been going there
quite a while also. My husband and parents also go there.
I like Dr. Mancini the best.

| We like Dr. Krowne, too. And some of us are scardy-cats! We
visit Dr. Krowne because of his evening and Saturday hours. He
shares the office with Dr. Glenn Jackson -- but I've not met him.

106.7 | Dr Jackson too! | NRADM::JCURLEY | | Mon Jul 11 1988 18:08 | 10 |

I've been going to Dr. Jackson, for 4 years now... I've had some
major work (i.e. crowns) and he's done an excellent job...
The best part is you listen to a sony walkman while he drills...helps
alot with the scardy-cat problem.

I have been going to Dr. M. Valentina Pasquantonio on Lower Nason
St in Maynard for about 5 years. I hated the dentist, especially
those NEEDLES. I am pleased to say that she is great, and nothing
has hurt. She is very much into preventative dentistry.

| re: .8
Here's a second for Dr. Pasquantonio. I live in Nashua and work
in the Mill. Even after I transfer to NH (I hope soon) I'll drive
down here for Dr. P. She's terrific. I *HATE* dentists and she's
gotten me over that as far as she's concerned. She's very much into
preventive dentistry. If you do what she says, you should be cavity
free. I have been for 4 years.

106.10 | thanks for the info. | SKETCH::SHUBIN | when's lunch? | Tue Jul 26 1988 13:25 | 9 |
| Tamzen -- I'm not worried about cavities anymore. It's receding gums and
root canals and crowns. But, a good dentist is a good dentist, and someone
else would probably do the heavy-duty work anyway.
If you're willing to drive down from NH, she must be good! I used to visit a
dentist in Danbury, CT, when I lived in Buffalo, NY, so I understand the
situation.

| I had a root canal done thru Dr Pasquantonio as have many other
friends of mine who work for DEC. She will refer you to an oral
surgeon for the actual root canal, but she make sure you're happy
with that dentist or she'll refer someone else. She then did the
followup work, crown etc. and was willing to fiddle and fuss with
it until it was just right and I had no problems with it.

106.12 | krowne & jackson, maynard! | DINER::SHUBIN | Question everything | Thu Mar 15 1990 09:26 | 13 |

I tried one dentist that was recommended here, and wasn't thrilled.
Then I went to Krowne and Jackson on Nason Street (at the sign of the
mouth). They're all great: the receptionist, the hygienist and both
dentists. I don't enjoy having my teeth cleaned, but this person did a
good job, explained everything and encouraged me to ask lots of
question. The dentists both examined me and made sure I was satisfied
before I left.
They were interested in how I heard of them, but I didn't spend too
much time describing notesfiles...

106.14 | Orthodontist needed | 7361::RUZICH | Realtime Software Engineering | Thu Mar 10 1994 14:21 | 10 |
| I'm looking for a recommendation for an orthodontist.
Our regular dentist, Dr. Jackson, recommended Dr. Hershberger, in
Maynard. If you have have any experience with Dr. Hershberger, or
another orthodontist could you let me know? Any response by notes,
mail (Helix::Ruzich), or phone to dtn 297-9063 would be appreciated.
Thanks,
-Steve

| Nothing but good to say about Dr Hershberger. I put two sons through
his services. Aside from the technical skills, he's real pleasant,
down-to-earth, has a good sense of humor and as you might guess, the
kids really like him. He takes alot of time with his patients and with
the parents. He also tends to have young assistants, who the kids can
also relate to.

106.16 | Dr. Harring? | POWDML::CHU | | Fri May 27 1994 18:09 | 3 |
| My dentist, Dr. Karp, decided to retire, and recommended that I go to Dr.
Cedric Harring in West Concord. Has anyone gone to Dr. Harring? What's your
experience?

106.17 | Goodbye Dr. Karp | TOOK::MORRISON | Bob M. LKG1-3/A11 226-7570 | Tue Nov 08 1994 16:35 | 14 |
| I too was a patient of Dr. Karp. I was very sorry to hear that he had re-
tired. The reason for his retirement was that the building owner (former hard-
ware store) is converting the entire building to something (not sure what).
Dr. Karp would have preferred to stay in practice, but couldn't afford to
move (starting up a dental practice in newer space is VERY expensive).
I always liked the fact that it was an informal setup, with one chair, Dr.
Karp doing all the work himself, and lots of conversation about Digital etc.
Dr. Harring's office feels like an assembly line to me. In two visits, I have
been worked on by two dentists and two assistants. He also has some policies
that I dislike, such as insisting on full payment up front with insurance
paid directly to the patient (after the processing delay). (Some dentists
only bill for the difference not covered by insurance.) I think Dr. Harring
and his team are competent, and I probably will stick with them, but I sure
miss Dr. Karp.
