70.0. "Were you a Maynard townie ??" by FRYAR::BARBER (Skyking Tactical Services) Mon Aug 03 1987 17:00

Now I know that a fair amount of you out there actually were
a (*shutter* :-) ) Maynard townie either when you started with DEC
or came on board sometime in your career. Since this beast your
staring at is suppose to be a communication tool, I wanted to
find out how many of us are out there.

I heard an indication that someone put together a Maynard High
School general reunion for all grads out over 10 yrs. I never
found out where or when it happened. I know Ive lost touch with
most of the people I went to school with and thought this might
be a good note to register all of us "townies" so that we could
pass on info about reunions and such.

So get brave and fess up, include what yr you graduated, where
you live now, where you work now and any other info you wish....

I wasn't exactly a townie. I grew up in Waltham but spent all my
holidays and vacations with grandparents and great-grandparents
on Chandler St. and Thompson St. I can remember when they had a
bus from downtown to the subway station in Harvard Square.

November. I'm currently working in one of the Boxboro facilities for
the Secure Systems Group as an Engineering Operations Analyst.

    Name: Frank Ignachuck

    Maynard resident: forever

    MHS: Class of 1966

College: St. Anselm (Class of 1970)

My father was also born and raised in Maynard (MHS Class of 1935)

Married: Carole (Novick) MHS Class of 1970, Bridgewater State (1974)

Carole's father was also born and raised in Maynard and was an MHS
    Grad.

We have three boys, Ross, Kyle, and Alex. They are fourth generation
    Maynardians on both sides.

By the way, my mother (Margaret McGovern) was born and raised in Acton,
was a third generation Actonian, and graduated from Acton High School.
When I was born, my parents lived in Acton and decided to buy a house
in Maynard. If they had bought in Acton, I could be a fourth generation
Actonian today. Wherever you are Ma and Da, THANKS for chosing Maynard!!

My maternal Grandfather, Hugh McGovern, was the Chief Engineer in the
Mill during the 20's and 30's and owned McGovern's King Square Diner
between Gruber's and the Assabet River for many years.
