RECENTLY MY WIFE WAS INVOLVED IN AN AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT. I NEED TO RENT A CAR WHILE THE CAR IS IN THE SHOP FOR REPAIRS. THE INSURANCE COMPANY WILL NOT PAY ANY MORE THAN $15/DAY. DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANY PLACE IN THE MAYNARD AREA THAT WILL RENT RELIABLE!!! AUTOMOBILES FOR $15/DAY? OR AS CLOSE TO THAT AS POSSIBLE. I HAVE HAD EXPERIENCE IN THE PAST WITH SO CALLED "RENT-A-WRECK" COMPANIES AND WOULD RATHER WALK!! BOB

Last time this happenned to me, I asked the insurance company where I could rent a car for $15.00 a day, and they gave me the names of a couple of places (certainly not the big three or four). The cars were really pretty reliable - they're never like your own if you own foreign like I do, but they get you from point A to point B when you need to get there. -Jerry

Christmas Motors on Rt. 27 in Maynard rents good cars for 15/day. I have rented from them 2 or 3 times, no problems. /gail

Oh, just so there is no confusion, they will only rent at that price when an insurance co. in involved. If you were to just walk in off the street and want to rent a car (no accident, etc. involved) I think the price would be more.

Snappy Car Rental, in Woburn and Framingham, among other places, rents for $17/day, and they will drop off and pick up the car. If the accident was somebody else's fault, you're entitled to rent a car equivalent to your own, and claim the amount against the other driver's insurance. Good luck collecting on it, though. |
