I have a customer with a perplexing serverworks agent problem. This is on an Alpha 4100 with NT 3.51 sp5. The SNMP service will not start when our agent is loaded. This is similar to a problem reported in another note topic here (can't remember the number) but it was solved with upgrade to a new 2.2 version of the agent. They have the newest NT Agent. When NT starts a window pops up saying the SNMP service did not start. They are e-mailing a copy of the event log. Remove the ServerWORKS agent and SNMP starts and works - add it again and SNMP fails again. Any Ideas? Thanks, Gary Olsen Atlanta CSC

Chet - She (the field engineer) did re-install the service pack after the NT agent for SW was installed. I still am waiting for the event log - maybe that will give us some clues. This is for a major customer - Bank of Boston - so we really need to solve it. Any other ideas? Thanks, Gary | |||||

Is the agent attempting to install the ClientWORKS browser DMISL as well? If so, during that install, say cancel. this is an alpha, so I'm clueless..... Chet |
