I have now been trying for many works to get Serverworks 2.2 to work succcessfully I have installed NT agents on NT 4.0 servers...No problem. I have installed Manageworks/Sworks on both NT 3.51 and NT 4.0 workstations. IP Autodiscovery. This works fine but click on server icon and I get "Invalid IP Address". If I set up my own viewer and manually insert Server.... Works OK. I can click on server and view all components. If I attempt to change IP address for either Autodiscovered or manually inserted server I get an error message as soon as I try to enter a ".". I get error "You must enter a valid IP address". It does not matter what character I attempt to type....It fails....... Is there a mega bug with this product???? Does anyone out there know what is wrong????? [Posted by WWW Notes gateway]

I get this when the system I'm viewing has a name like: 1bat.vbo.dec.com 2bats.vbo.dec.com 3bats.vbo.dec.com Might be that there's some checking inside SW that regards these names as invalid ones. (I remember reading once that DNS names starting with a number are not valid. I believe that this was actually even the PW TCP/IP stack which had this as well. Might be a left over) Remedie, take out the check I would say. Pjotrr Ah, and how to get around it? Select the object, goto properties and change the general name into the IP address. Worked for me.
