I have a customer with ManageWORKS Workgroup Administrator on his Windows 95 machine. The PC's computername had originally been FRED1, but that was changed to MIS1. When he browses his LAN Manager Domains and looks into his workgroup, he sees both the name MIS1 and FRED1. How can he remove FRED1? When he highlights it and goes to 'Edit Viewer', the 'Remove' option is gray'd-out. This IS the TCP host name, isn't it? Not the 'Computername', right?

If you change the name associated with the IP address, you should change it in your DNS, control panel network setup (Compuner Name & TCP/IP Host Name), then in ManageWorks either rerun autopoll to discover the new name or delete the object entry and add it with the new name. Rich |
