Hi , We have a customer who wants to use RSM for 9 ZX6000 server via a direct connection but not a normal direct conntection ie reverse-LAT connection. Have anyone done this allready?? I use verion 1.1 of RSM What I have done: Setup a direct connection no problem. Via a terminal connection an the reverse-lat we get onto the RSM card because we get the RSM password prompt.what we did to get on the RSM card : connection to the terminal server(TM) via the terminal emulator , we created a service on the TM ie prioris, do a connect do this service c prioris and the we get the password for the RSM card.So the reverse-lat connection is working. Then we added to the login script the steps needed do to the TM login . This is not working we don't get the Connecton successfully estblished. When we look with a datascoop on the line we see that the program is sending all the data and that he does the connection to the password prompt and it is stops. Can anyone help me with this. Ps : can you connect to more the 1 server when are using a multiplexer or the system I want to use?? Best Regards Yves

218.1 | You can only connect with RSM application | PCBUOA::BRACKEN | Thu Feb 27 1997 08:14 | 17 | |
You can not use RSM via any Terminal emulator. It only responds to proper requests from it's own API using PPP protocol. The RSM application uses this API and the API itself is not published. In addition RSM can and should be made secure against intrusion by downloading a security file that has a User Name and Password. This is why you have password. There was an effort to allow entry to RSM for the use of Alpha serial console. The effort was dropped and would only work with additional hardware that was only prototyped. Is this what you mean by reverse-lat? Why not just set up 9 direct null-modem cable connections using a Digiboard multiplexer and use the RSM application the normal way. |
