213.1 | WFW Third Party not supported | PCBUOA::BRACKEN | | Mon Feb 24 1997 16:20 | 1 |
| This is not supported on WFW. Only NT and Windows 95.

213.2 | Please explain ... | ALFSS2::OLSEN_G | Hey y'all, how y'all doin'? | Tue Feb 25 1997 10:17 | 13 |
| The swreadme.txt seems to differ. Not sure what you mean by "WFW Third
Party not supported". The readme says ClientWorks is not supported on
WFW stations, but there are several sections that talks about debugging
problems on a WFW config - like performance, errors, etc.
Customer loaded the ServerWorks console and Manageworks on a WFW 3.11
machine as his admin console.
Please explain.
Thanks,
Gary

213.3 | Third Party Apps | PCBUOA::BRACKEN | | Tue Feb 25 1997 11:08 | 5 |
| The SWEXTOMM.DLL is used to integrate Third Party applications such as
GAM, RSM, KCRCM and any other that have the proper hooks. This
autodiscovery recognition of the additional application is not
supported on Windows for WorkGroups.

213.4 | What if... | ALFSS2::OLSEN_G | Hey y'all, how y'all doin'? | Tue Feb 25 1997 12:09 | 13 |
| Rich,
I've advised the customer to upgrade to win95, but for my info,
I'm not familiar with these apps - what are they? My customer wants to
integrate this into his OpenView system - I saw notes about doing this
but I would think this would require the SW extension?
What would happen if I removed (or didn't install) the extension?
Would it work ok unless I wanted to interface with these apps?
Thanks for the info,
Gary

| The dll is specifically used for any application that wishes to
integrate into ServerWORKS using the
"Intelligent Toolbar Integration". We use it to integrate the RSM
application (if it is installed), the
KCRSM installation and the Mylex GAM2 and SWCC applications. We will be
provided documentation on the
web on how any application can be integrated using this feature. This
is only for customers that
are using the ServerWORKS Manager framework, ManageWORKS.
This is not a tool that lets us integrate our software
into other framework managers such as OpenView.
