2889.0. "Message Queuing Middleware Forum" by OZROCK::PERKINS (Some contractors, their sex-life destroyed and overwhelmed by project pressures, turn to snorting quack.) Thu May 29 1997 02:23

Given the uncertainty surrounding this conference and its focus
on BEAmessageQ together with the fact the 1st of June is basically
on us without any indication what is going to happen we have created
a web forum for the discussion of issues, ideas, technical problems etc
related to messaging middleware.

I am attempting to get Erik Mintz and Carlos Borgialli to give me any
information on how the relationship will work and who is responsible
for different aspects of the relationship. I will make any information
available in the forum below (and this conference is still exists next
week)

Welcome to the Message Queuing Middleware Web Forum. This is an open
forum provided to facilitate the discussion of any issue relating to
Message Queuing Middleware. This includes message queuing technologies
such as:

         * BEA's MessageQ (formerly known as DECmessageQ or DMQ)
         * Microsoft's MSMQ (formerly known as Falcon)
         * IBM's MQSeries
         * Tibco's TIB

and service-oriented middleware such as:

         * Digital's BusinessBus (formerly known as MSG+ or IMS)

The focus of this forum is to enable the exchange of technical,
planning and solution design information to support Digital's delivery
of solutions to its customers. Please feel free to include
any
experiences with above technologies (eg. benefits, deficiencies, wins,
alternatives)

Is this available outside the Digital environment? Obviously, BEA MessageQ Engineering
will be very limited in what it posts, either as answers or as new topics, in something
that is available to anyone on the web?

Peter,

I'm happy for anyone to contribute. I'll discuss it with erik
and see what can be done to put a hole in the firewall for
controlled access.

Cheers Kevin
