Hi,

A customer of us got DMQ for HP-UX for evaluation and we have some questions /
problems from him that maybe you will be able to answer/solve and help us with
this opportunity.

1. The main issue is that when he start the DMQBCP which has it's own bus.init
file and some other group.init file the bcp seem to start OK, in the group log
file we see that the gcp and qe started but then error gcp, init failure follow
with gcp, operation failed to complete then the qe exit and so does the gcp too.

However if after this he start the gcp from the command line it work and we see
the gcp, qe and ld up and running.

It does not seem to be OK. But it work.

1. Should this be so ?  What is wrong in the normal start of the BCP ?
   Are there any dependencies that cause it not to work ? is the work around 
   safe ?  Did we miss something ?


2. In this environment, they want to use VMS and HP-UX (9000-712 with UX v9.05)
   they said they have problems with :

   - Big/Little Indian between the VAX and HP

   - Alignment which they can't modify on the HP that cause them problem using
     service messages request to the VMS.

   Do you know about the kind of problem that they talk about ? Do we have some
   answer to them ?
