I have an application which runs on Windows For Workgroups, and connects to a DMQ 3.2 CLS running on an NT Alpha box (V3.51, 128Mb memory). I note the maximum for NUM_CLIENTS on the CLS is 512. I want to have about 75 clients on my CLS, the number of messages is not very high (a few dozen per day perhaps). I want to leave the clients connected all the time. Is there anything I should watch out for, anything I can do to tune my NT server to cope with this load? Or can I reasonably expect that the NT box will have no problem? I'd appreciate any comments from anyone who has experience of this kind of configuration. Thanks / Regards Neil

During development testing, we have had over 75 clients attached to a CLS on NT (Alpha with 96 MB memory). So your system should be able to handle it. You might want to set the tasking option to give equal priority to foreground/background tasks. Pat |
