904.0. "X29 login problem and line feeds" by ROM01::CALDONI () Wed May 21 1997 01:37
Hello,
I've got a weird problem connecting to an Alphaserver 1000 running Dunix 3.2g
and X25 WAN 2.0. When I connect to this customer service, say doing
"set host/x dte-address", I get the login prompt but I'm not able the enter
any character, that is I get no echo. Also, If I do an "X29login dte-address"
locally, that is the same node connecting to itself, I get the same behaviour!
Can anyone give a hint on where to sart from?
The only way to connect to this NUA is to use a PC with modem and a terminal
emulator set 7 bits, parity even, 1 stop bit. Then, as soon as I log in
I must set terminal back to 8 bits, no parity, 1 stop.
I side effect of this hackering is that reading mail with Pine or Elm I get
a double line feed for each line printed on the screen.
Can someone shed light?
Many thanks, Tano

Can someone help me?
Thanks

| There were a a good number of fixes to the X.29 code which are incorporated in
V2.0a. Take a look at the V2.0a release notes, it contains a section with all
fixed problems.
Even if you don't find your specific problem, it is still a worthy upgrade.
For pointers to the V2.0a kit, check one of the later replies in note 3.
Matt.
