504.0. "DNSES cables?" by OTOOA::JPOND () Sat Mar 15 1997 03:41
Hi
The following is a note I cross-posted in the MVBLAB::SABLE conference.
I'm not really where I can ask questions regarding the DNSES, so any
pointers would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim

Note 2554.0 DNSES cable part number? No replies
OTOOA::JPOND 15 lines 13-MAR-1997 17:40
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have a cabling issue with a DNSES. I don't really know of a better
place to ask this because I've never really found a good conference
that discusses this sort of thing (if there is, let me know).
Anyway, the DNSES ships with a Y-Cable. The end that plugs into the
DNSES itself is a 100-pin 2-row male D-style connector, and the other
two arms of the "Y" are 50-pin 3-row maile D-style connectors.
I have a customer that wants to connect to CPE that has a female DB25;
in other words, he needs a cable with a male DB25 on one end and a
female 50-pin 3-row d-style connector on the other end to connect to
the Y-cable that comes with the DNSES.
Can someone give me a part number for such a beast? Thanks in advance,
Jim

504.1 | | OZROCK::MUGGERIDGE | X.25 is 1-2-3 | Mon Mar 17 1997 17:56 | 3 |
| You want the BC19D cable. It is a V.24 cable.
I'm surprised your customer didn't receive this cable with his order.

| Thanks for the info. One problem we have is that we received a BC19V
with the wrong connector on the end.

504.3 | What electrical interface? | OZROCK::HARTWIG | Arthur Hartwig, TaN Engineering-Australia | Tue Mar 18 1997 06:18 | 4 |
| Also check the electrical interface. Some people use DB-25 connectors
with electrical interfaces like V.35 (normally uses a 34-pin
"winchester" connector) and EIA-530. The cable part number Matt gave
you probably won't work IF the electrical interface is NOT RS-232.
