Note 3736.0 PBXDI-AA vs PBXDI-AB 1 reply KAOT01::B_CORBIN "dtn 640-7420 " 11 lines 8-FEB-1997 14:44 quick question: Is their a difference in the PBXDI-AA (rs232) and the PBXDI-AB(V.35) --MODULES-- . The cabling is different of course , but are the modules the same? The PSP indicates they may be different, The modules have different variants on the part number. A customer has a -AB version and wants to know if all he needs is a cable swap to be able to use the card with RS232 cables. Brian Corbin

497.1 | Its a little more than a cable change | OZROCK::HARTWIG | Arthur Hartwig, TaN Engineering-Australia | Wed Feb 12 1997 00:04 | 14 |
Based on your description (I don't have the 'official' description immediately to hand) the modules are the same EXCEPT the jumpers are set for 2 V.35 ports OR 2 RS-232 ports. So, starting with a two port V.35 module, to convert to a two port RS-232 module you can 1) change cable to the two port RS-232 cable; 2) change the jumpers on the board to the RS-232 setting. There are five jumpers per port to change. The jumper change procedure is described in the installation manual that should have come with the card - the same manula that describes how to set the CSR addresses. |
