1206.0. "Faithful" by HOTLNE::SHIELDS () Sat Jan 25 1997 00:59

I didn't see a note on this movie, so I thought I would put one in.

"Faithful" is an adaptation of a play by the same name and was written
by Chazz Palmienteri (sp?), who also stars in the movie. The movie also
stars Cher and Ryan Oneal(remember him?).

The story is about a very wealthy woman (Cher), her equally
wealthy husband(Oneal) and a rather unusual hitman (Palmienteri).

The hitman arrives at the home of the wealthy woman, ties her up and
tells her he has been sent by her husband to kill her. While waiting
for a signal from the husband, the hitman and the wife get into one of
the most hilarious conversations I have ever heard.

I can't go into more detail or I might give something away. But I
thought this movie was a riot! Strong performances by Cher and Chazz,
great dialogue and some interesting plot twists, make this a very good
dark comedy. If you like witty and biting satire, I think you'll like
    "Faithful".

One of the many great exchanges in the movie:

Wife: "have you ever been in love?"
     Hitman: "yes"
     Wife: "what happened?"
     Hitman: "It Didn't work out"
     wife: "why?"
hitman: "I had to kill her father!"

                                   *** out of ****

I just saw this on video. I have to agree with Gary, this
is a good flick. It would most definitly be fun to see it
as a play (though probably now that I know what's going to
	happen :-).

	A must see!

I'm Cher's biggest fan but this movie S**Ked! Cher is tied up through
out the entire show and her acting has really gone down hill since her
better days of Moon Struck or Witches of Eastwick, etc.

    Not worth the rental price.
