1153.0. "Bordello of Blood" by POLAR::LARABIE (Everyone is entitled to my opinion) Thu Aug 15 1996 02:18

This note will be dedicated to the second of three full length
films put out by Tales From the Crypt called.......Bordello of Blood.

It stars Dennis Miller, Erika Eleniak, Corey Feldman, Angie
Everhart, Chris Sarandon, and a few more that I can't remember.

        Basic storyline is......
Dennis Miller plays down and out P.I. Rafe Guttman hired by Katherine
Verdoux (Erika) to find her missing brother Caleb (Feldman).

Trail leads to a vampire queen named Lilith (played by Everhart) who
runs a brothel of vampire females who turn tricks, not for cash, but
    for blood.

Anyhow, some kind of overthrow is plotted against Lilith, masterminded
by Sarandon's character and Dennis and Erika wind up in the middle.
    Somehow?

Anyone who can help add to the limited info I got, PLEASE do.

Oh and I think this is Dennis Miller's first starring role, but feel
free to contradict me if I'm wrong.

Save your money - this was one lousy movie.

-.1 has the plot down pretty well, it does not get much more involved
    than that.

The reason Lilith is brought to life in the first place is so
she can kill off people that go to whore-houses and the like. She
is brought back by a Billy-Graham type preacher who wants to rid the
world of all these evil sinners. The preacher has a small "key" that
is the only thing that can control Lilith, so she is under his power.
She ends up gaining control of this "key and then it's up to our
heroes Miller & Eleniak to save the day.

I liked Erika a lot better as Shauni on Baywatch!

    Another Spoiler

This one gives away the ending

I was a little supreised at the ending, I should've expected her to be
a vampire also, but I was so un-interested in the story by the end
that I was just praying for the movie to end.
1153.2POLAR::LARABIEJust my $0.02 and worth every pennyFri Aug 23 1996 03:1917

Well I bit and went to see this one this past weekend.

I don't know, maybe I have really horrible taste in movies but I didn't
find it as bad as -1 did. I think they were trying to make this one a
little more humorous but at times it came across as kinda lame. I
really didn't enjoy Dennis Miller's performance all that much but I
thought Corey Feldman's stint as the teen brother from Hell was kinda
    funny.

Anyways, I popped the first Tales into the VCR yesterday......."Demon
Knight" and I will admit it was by far the better of the two.

Oh well, I guess I just really love bad horror flicks......what can you
    do?

Actually, I laughed a few times at some of Dennis Millers comments.
I thought he had a few decent moments, certainly not enough to
    save the picture, though.

1153.5This really sucked!(a little vampire humor:)HOTLNE::SHIELDSSat Jan 25 1997 22:2923
I caught this on video and it definitely wasn't as good as "Demon
    Knights", which isn't saying much.

Other than a few good wisecracks from Dennis Miller and a couple of
decent effects, there isn't really much more to this movie. I got the
feeling watching this that it was just an excuse to have a lot of
nudity, swearing and exploding body parts. In fact the best part of
the movie were the beginning and the end. Why? Because the Crypt
Keeper is really ghoul.... I mean cool.

I recommend "Bordello Of Blood" only if you love Dennis Miller, lots of
gore, foul language, nudity and a weak storyline. Hey, I can deal with
most of that stuff myself (except Miller) but this gets really
    ridiculous!

BTW, if you like Chris Sarandon, who is wasted in this film, rent
"Fright Night", for a really fun vampire movie.
