1130.0. "The official "Nudity in the Movies" topic" by VAXCPU::movies (Briget Bardot) Wed Jul 10 1996 19:03

Well the Demi Moore topic has turned into a rat-hole about nudity
in the movies, which I seem to recall being discussed before as
a rat-hole in a topic I can not find. So as to not have this
rat-hole get lost again this will be the official topic for discussion
	of nudity in the movies.

I'll be moving the relevant notes from the Demi Moore topic to
this topic. If someone remembers or finds the topic(s) where the
previous discussion(s) took place please let me know .....

Well, does it bother you when Arnold Schwartzenegger (I *know* I
mispelled that!) flaunts his body? Or any of the other male stars who
    are always running around half-naked?

<--- Well, yes. I gave "Assassins" an extra half star because Stallone
didn't show his butt for a change. 8^)

Let's be serious here, women outweigh the men drastically when it comes
to nude scenes. The *only* movie I have ever had a comment made to me
about "this was the women will want to watch" was the Specialist with
    Silvester Stallone.

But this is the not the point.

Showing off your body does not make you a good actor, male or female.

But showing off a [very nice] body is a box-office draw.

    Isn't this a definition thing?

OK, so who will do a definition? - This I don't know how to define it
but I know it when I see it stuff hurts my head. There is more female
nudity because of our definintion of nudity. Male nipples don't count.
What sort of movie would Zulu be if they did ?!!%%?!?^?$&?^

Sex is entertaining, that's why its in the films. Nudity shots are in
ther eto entertain, usually as sexual code, occationally to be silly
(life of Brian is the best example). The sort of sad portrail of women
in films like Kingpin is not erotic or funny but it is box office with
the target audiance. As for making a star, well if it gets an actress
talked about its good publicity at least.

So, here's to nakedness, whether its nudity or not.
