  Last weekend we went to see the movie "Georgia" with Mare Winningham and
Jennifer Jason Leigh. It's a movie about two 30ish sisters, one of whom is an
established country/rock singer with a really good voice played by Winningham
and the other who is something of a loser who tries to be a singer but has no
voice played by Leigh. 

  It's a pretty good movie, good acting, writing, directing, and the songs are
done well. In some cases that means they are horrible on purpose, other times
they are pleasant and entertaining. 

  Nothing real heavy here, think "Rich Man Poor Man" rewritten for the 90's as
"Rich Woman Poor Woman" and you should get the idea but it works. The story
keeps moving and keeps you entertained and Jennifer Jason Leigh's performance
is one that fits into the "don't miss" category.

    Of course she is good in it, she with the help of her mother
    wrote and produced it too. She is a very underated actress, that has
    played some juicy roles. I've always liked her.

    I saw Mare Winningham when she opened for John Wesley Harding at the
    Aparadise in Boston a few years back - she *does* have a great voice. 
    Hopefully this will help her if she decides so start more seriously
    into a singing career
