1019.0. "First Blood/Rambo/Rambo II" by BUSY::SLABOUNTY (Don't like my p_n? 1-800-328-7448) Tue Jan 23 1996 16:46

Sylvester Stallone, Richard Crenna, Brian Dennehey, David Caruso.

Stallone plays John Rambo, Viet Nam vet and recipient of the Cong-
ressional Medal of Honor, who's just looking for a good place to
eat when he's hassled by a small-town cop who speaks for the whole
town when he says "he doesn't like that kind around there". And
when Rambo pisses him off, it's off to jail for vagrancy.

And during processing, after being harassed by 1/2 the police
force, he starts having flashbacks, and goes wild when they try to
shave him. Makes a mess of the place, and busts a few heads a bit,
and escapes on a "borrowed" dirt bike, Dennehey in pursuit in the
cruiser. Of course, Rambo escapes to the woods to hide out.

And the story starts, as Dennehey calls in all kinds of assist-
ance to try and capture him. Of course, Rambo is a Viet Nam vet,
and had more than his share of this stuff already, so a band of
small-time cops is no match for him.

The 1st [and best] in a trilogy of "Rambo" movies.

Yea, the first one of these was fun. Stupid, but fun. Brian Dennehey
can make even a far-fetched B movie fun to watch.

Interesting that the public never made an issue out of the fact that
Stallone was a draft dodger during the Viet Nam war.

I enjoyed all three but hate those naff speeches he delivers towards
    the end of each movie.

Exact same with the Rocky movies.

I see the first noter actually put David Caruso's name in the credits.
Come on, he had two scenes in the whole movie!!

First of all, he was 1 of the featured policemen in the beginning
of the movie, when Rambo was brought into the station. And he
was also in on the beginning of "the hunt".

Also, whenever a popular actor/actress appears in a movie, espec-
ially early in his/her career, I want to know about it, and I'd
bet that many people are interested in hearing it. I love stuff
like this ... watching a movie and saying "Wow, I didn't know he
    	was in this movie!!".

    	Who, me, or someone else?

If me, I saw "First Blood" years ago, and recently bought it and
watched it again. And there was no note in here, so I started 1.

     Hi,
I wasn't sure if we could do that, thanks. I got some old
1950's sci-fi/horror films I would love to review & post up
here. Just to see how many have seen them & their opnions.

That's what this conference is for ... movies. Old or new, bad
or good, starring Alan Alda or not.
