Keanu Reaves, Alex Winter, George Carlin, William Sadler, etc.
Alex and Keanu are Bill and Ted, 2 promising rock musicians who
just need to pass their history final to graduate and then go
on to be famous. But their grades are horrible, and George is
sent from the future to help them pass the final [because their
band, Wyld Stallyns, is somehow responsible in shaping the music
of the future].
So they take a stroll around the past in a futuristic telephone
booth and visit with various people.
Ridiculous, basically, but ALOT of fun ... and the F/X aren't
bad, either.
In the sequel, they die and go to Hell and must beat William
Sadler [The Grim Reaper] in order to get back to Earth for the
"Battle of the Bands". And again, ridiculous, but ALOT of fun,
and more OK F/X.
