988.0. "Lilies Of The Field" by BSS::BRUNO (Burly Computer Nerd) Tue Dec 26 1995 05:32
They had this old classic on one of the cable channels. Sidney
Poitier stars as a man who builds a chapel for a group of german nuns.
They have several challenges to overcome.
You might recognize Stanley Adams, who plays the leader of a group
of local laborers who help Sidney. Adams later played on an episode of
the original Star Trek as the purveyor of some small, furry creatures
with a definite dislike of Klingons.
A piece of trivia I'd like confirmed is whether or not the voice
dubbed-in with Poitier's lip-synching of the song "Amen", at the close
of the film, was indeed Harry Belafonte. There was no mention of him
in the end credits (I did miss any opening credits, though).
