I guess this is a little late for .0 but in case anyone else is interested
this is another great film by Zhang Yimou with Gong Li. (See topics
419, 451, 496 and 926 if you are not familiar with them).

It is about a 14-year old boy (Xiaoxiao Wang) who is brought in from
his village by his uncle (Xuejian Li) to be the servant of the mistress
(Gong Li) of a triad (Chinese mafia) boss (Baotian Li). The film shows his
first, rather eventful, week on the job. It is set in Shanghai in the
1930s.

To avoid spoiling anything that is all I will say about the plot. As
is typical of Zhang Yimou it involves a certain amount of intrigue.
I found the style more similar to his earlier work (Red Lantern, Qiu
Ju and Ju Dou) than to his previous "To Live".

Although it was unfortunately dubbed here I definitely assume the original
language was the Mandarin dialect of Chinese.
