I can't find any info on a film of that name either in Halliwells
or the Internet Movie Database. Are you sure you've got the
right title?

bare feet because his son drowned"
If my memory serves me well.

It's about this old bloke who drove in bare feet cause one of his sons
drowned. It was set in the 1920's or 30's.!!!!!

A bit too literal. It's "The Reivers", 1969, with Steve McQueen.
Whether that's the movie .0 wants, I can't help with ...

| I've always meant to find a copy of "The Reivers", for two reasons.
1. I have a good friend whose favorite author is William Faulkner, and
"The Reivers" is one of his favorite Faulkner stories.
2. In a TV interview a couple of years ago, Steven Spielberg said that
he hired John Williams to do his film music because Williams did such
a superb job writing the score in "The Reivers". I'm curious to hear
the music which caught Speilberg's attention. Actually, the point was
not that the music itself was memorable (though it may be - I haven't
heard it), but that William's music supported the visual aspect of the
film so well.
I hope someone rents a video and reports back.

Some of the music from "The Reivers" can be found on a 1994 CD
of the Boston Pops playing movie scores of John Williams and
Aaron Copland.
