| It was actually a very good addition to the base plot. While listening
to "Don Juan's" recounting of his story, the psychologist (Brando) gets
to feeling more romantic and gets closer with his wife (dunaway). It
brings out the romantic fool in him so to speak.

| Hi, my mother and I saw this flick and we both really enjoyed it.
She liked Brando and said he did great in this movie. I enjoyed Mr.
Dep! I liked the fact that depending on what you get out of the movie
and how much of a romantic you are, you will probably reach a different
conclusion at the end.
more comments,
I liked the fact that Dep protrayed Don Juan not just as a lover of
women, but able to awaken the romantic in men as well. I liked how
Brando's role developed after each time he talked with Dep. I loved
the scene with the male nurse too. It didn't matter if you are male
or female, he still had an effect on you.
I think there were two possible endings to the story:
1st: It ends after Brando gives him the drugs and the rest is in
Brando's mind.
2nd: It really pans out the way its played.
Either way, it gets you thinking and you walk out with a good feeling.

I do have to admit, there for awhile I was wondering whether Depp's
character really went through all that, or if it was just his
imagination. That confused me. I also noted thet the movie started out
being narrated by Depp, and at the end, it was narrated by Brando. Was
that something that they did on purpose or was it a fluke?
One thing I did think was really funny, however was when Brando took
Dunaway to the restaraunt and gave her the earrings and was really
romantic, did you catch the flip of the screen where they showed the
"last conquest"? She was apparently waiting for Don Juan to return!
My wife pointed that one out to me, it went right over my head.
Welcome your commments,
-Joe

| I picked this up Sat at the video store because everything else
was pretty much gone.
What a pleasant surprise!! It is a wonderful movie, Depp's voice
as he tells his story is mesmerizing....although I think his accent
had a lot to do with it.
We followed it by watching French Kiss, one of the two romantic hits
of the year, and we thought it paled in comparison.
He *is* Don Juan!!

| Ditto ... I watched this on the plane back to Australia from France. I
was being shipped back after an accident left me with some (not too
serious) spinal injuries, so I wasn't expecting to enjoy much at all.
Great movie! JD certainly is an actor capable of great things. It
astounds me when I look back at 21 Jump Street, that this same guy is
capable of Ed Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Gilbert Grape etc.... and this
too!
Great to see Brando having a bit of fun in it too.
(BTW ... my back is fine now)

| Definitely a date flick. Me and the missus will likely rent this on a
yearly basis to keep things fresh. Very enjoyable!
