| Sandra Bullock was on Letterman last night promoting it. Unfortunutly
they didn't get to talk about the film much since Dave was more
concerned with seeing Sandra naked. FWIW, Sandra said she has done
a nude scene in the early part of her career in a film set in the
Amazon (and directed by the same person that directed "The Specialist").

| From what I can gather from the commercials, a subway token
attendant sees this guy on the platform, it's love at first sight
for her, he has an accident and is taken to the hospital in
a coma. She has rescued him, goes to the hospital with him,
and a nurse, misunderstanding, announces to his family that
Bullock is his fiancee.
The family welcomes her with open arms ... then the fun starts.

| Saw it at a sneak preview last Friday. Cute screwball romantic comedy;
no big surprises, but pretty well done. Got a smattering of applause
at the end (maybe this is a Worcester Area Sneak Preview Tradition?!).
I haven't seen "Speed" or any of Sandra Bullock's other performances; I
thought she was quite charming, and I liked (Whats-his-name) who played
Jack (looks a lot like Jeff Daniels, IMO).

Two thumbs up. I liked this one. I found myself with a smirk or smile
on my face throughout most of the movie. I liked the character Saul
and just thought overall that the movie was good. It's about time we
got a good old fashioned romantic movie.
Sandra Bullock did a great job and Pullman just made me smile.

5. Fire on the Amazon (1993) (V)
Just a guess ...

a perfect romantic comedy. sandra bullock is so sweet in this film
that male movie-goers may recall what those long ago teen-age crushes
felt like. 8^) four stars (out of four), and you can take mom, dad,
or the kids to see it without worrying about anything embarrassing,
at least nothing that i can recall.

| What a terrific movie!!! My wife and I both loved it! I have been a
huge Sandra Bullock fan since Love Potion #9, and I was confident she
could be a romantic lead. She is better than I even imagined! Funny,
pretty but not beautiful, vulnerable yet not naive, she makes her Lucy
so real it's as if you've known her all your life.
Bill Pullman, who was go great as "the dumbest person alive" in
Ruthless People, manages to play off Bullock extremely well. His
mistakes and befuddlement are just perfect. Jack Warden, another actor
I've liked for a long time, is wonderful as a neighbor of the family
and a confidant of sorts to Lucy.
9.5 out of 10

| We missed this one on the big screen, and rented it over the weekend.
This was one of the most enjoyable movies we've seen in a
looooooongtime!
While not a Christmas movie, the time of year in which the movie is set
is Christmastime, so it's a perfect get-in-the-Christmas romantic
comedy. Sandra Bullock as Lucy has the sort of innocent, simple charm
not seen since the Sandra (coincidence?) Dee "Tammy" days.
Bill Pullman is excellent as is the rest of the cast. Not exactly
Academy award material (more's the pity), but the sort of movie that
leaves you with a smile on your face for a while.
See it !
