Sorry, Sean - Dulles airport in Washington D.C. ( actually I think
it's just outside the limits ). Big flub in the movie ( supposed to be
on the east coast, but Bruce calls someone from a Pacific Bell pay
phone ).
I heard the 3rd movie was *supposed* to be on a cruise ship, but
they changed the plot after Under Siege came out - no idea what they
changed it to, though...

| They changed it to New York city, with all the implicated fun one could
have there. :)
Villian o' the piece is Jeremy Irons (one could do worse), with a
silent German rock star (forget her name) as a silent associate
terrorist. Not sure what the plot is (um, villian wants to do
something violent and grandiose, Bruce Willis gets in the way? :).

| Correction. In Die Hard 1, Bruce Willis is a New York cop who goes out
to California to visit his wife. The skyscrapper, Yakatomi Plaza, is in
Los Angeles, not New York.

NY/LA ... same thing. Just on different sides of the country.
And an airport is an airport. Here a plane, there a plane,
everywhere a plane plane.

.2 was referring to the upcoming DH 3, you're talking about DH 1, different
films.

| Jeremy Irons as a villain. I never imagined him in an action
franchise. Should be interesting to see if he blows them all out of
the water (performance-wise, of course).

| Not that odd Alan Rickman did in the first one. I was big on the line
that went something like:
"You ask for a miracle, I give you the FBI."
and
"I guess we'll have to get some new FBI guys huh?"
Yep, I reakon old Al. was one of the best scripted villains action
movies have seen in a long time. Perhaps this is why they've gone for
a classically trained Brit for pt3. I don't know who the guy was in
pt2 but seemed a bit too colonial for me.

Minor nit,
The line "I guess we'll need some more FBI guys"
or words to that effect, were spoken by the pencil-
neck police Lt. "Dwayne".
My fav. line,
"First, I'm gonna kill ya, then I'm gonna skin ya, then
I'm gonna eat ya!!"

| Yep my mistake on the new FBI guys quote.
"I think I can deal with this Euro trash...." It may not have been
famous last words but it would heve looked good on the guys tomb stone.

| DIE HARD with a Vengeance.
Samuel L. Jackson is not a cop, he's just a small shop owner which gets
mixed up in Willis troubles, when he stops Willis from getting killed
by a bunch of coloured rude boys in Harlem.
Jeremy Irons is toying around with Willis in revenge for the death of
his brother in the first film. But let me assure you that its not that
simple. There is a reason for this, and I will not spoil it for anyone
who has not seen the film yet, by telling you.
An enjoyable film, with loads of actions, but I was disappointed with
the ending.

While the topic title is "Die Hard 1 2 and 3", #3 actually has
it's own dedicated topic (topic number 837).
Maybe a moderator will want to either re-title this topic to
just reference 1 & 2, or combine the two topics .....
