HOLIDAY
Starring: Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn
Grant, arriving home from a holiday, announces to his neighbors (a
wonderfully wacky couple) that he has met the woman of his dreams, he
has asked her to marry him, and, no, he doesn't know anything about her
except that he loves her. He rushes off to meet her for lunch.
The taxi drops him off in front of a giant mansion...he assumes she
works for the house and enters through the kitchen door, only to discover
that, not only does his beloved live there but that she is in fact
filthy rich.
The story centers on the fact that Grant is not that hip on money. He
wants to make some, sure, but then he wants to retire by thirty and
play until the money is all gone. His beloved doesn't think this such
a good idea. Her sister however, the very beautiful Hepburn, thinks
it's a wonderful idea. She hates money and her life and her big house
and her stuffy father and begs her little sister to run off with Grant
and live, live, live!
I won't tell you the end, although I'm sure you can all guess just by
the stars and the roles they play, but it is a really cute movie.
Hepburn and Grant doing front and back flips and cartwheels should not
be missed.
P.S. This is a B&W original...I doubt it's been restored...you've been
warned.

Grant and Hepburn were one of the great screwball comedy teams and George
Cukor one of the great directors. This film was recently restored.
