| Full Metal Jacket was a very good movie..you should check that one out.
The only film I can think about is the one that Kevin Costner is making
right now. The title is "Water World" and I believe it is filmed
entirely on the water. Dennis Hopper plays the villian in this movie.
It should be at the cinemas in a month or two. The budget is suppose to
exceed $100 million.

| Nope, "Waterworld" is an entirely different matter. "AI" was the
project Kubrick was working on. Kubrick commented that this was a
project he's wanted to do for some time, and when he saw "Jurassic
Park", he realized that the technology was available (and inexpensive
enough) for him to accomplish what he wanted.
FYI, "Fear and Desire", Kubrick's first film, which he disowns and of
which he has been actively trying to buy up any known prints, has been
shown at the Eastman Center (?) in Rochester NY recently. It was noted
as an interesting curio which demonstrated some of Kubrick's themes in
an early raw form.
Filmography in chronological order (from memory):
Fear and Desire
The Killer's Kiss
The Killing
Paths of Glory
(Spartacus)
Dr. Strangelove
Lolita
2001: A Space Odyssey
A Clockwork Orange
Barry Lyndon
The Shining
Full Metal Jacket

| re: .2 I own all of 'em from "Strangelove" on, except "Barry Lyndon"
which I've never seen. Is it out on video?
I'd rank them: 2001, FMJ, Strangelove, Shining, Clockwork Orange, Lolita
ALL of them are at least ***

| I also an a huge fan of Kubrick's, from Paths of Glory to Full Metal
Jacket. BTW, two very interesting anti-war movies a generation apart.
My favorite movie of all time is 2001, and Dr. Stranglove is in my
top ten. A Clockwork Orange is right up there, too.

*not* directed by Stanley Kubrick) discussion has been moved to Topic

| Good memory; however, the Internet Movie Database also shows 3 other shorts
before Fear and Desire (and swaps the order of Lolita and Strangelove). Because
the credits of some of the early films are sketchy, Kubrick may have had other
roles on them, too.
