Me and my two sons, ages 7 and 10 went to see "the war" last night. My 10 year old said it's the first film he cried at. I thought elijah wood was excellant in this film plus his sister (forgot her name) was good. It was alittle hard to understand the heavy Mississippi accent at first but got used to it. The flashbacks to the father's war was very convincing and didn't dwell on that part of the story to much which was fine with me. I liked the trails and tribulations that the kids went through, especially when your trying to teach your own kids about why other kids act the way they do. Anybody else see this film?

The sister is Lexi Randall. Word is, the studio is pushing Elijah Wood for a Best Actor Oscar for this film. Kevin Costner took second billing and will be touted for a Supporting Actor award, in order to boost the Wood campaign. |
