I never saw it.... but wasn't there a movie out last year called "Gas, Food 
and Lodging"?  I think the plot sounds similar to what you have described 
here.

    Definitley not Gas--Lodging.  The free spirit in that one was Ione
    Skye's character.  I recomend you see that one though.  It's really a
    great low-budg picture.  But I digress.

    	I don't remember any specific scene like .0, but the Australian
    movie "High Tide" with Judy Davis has a relationship somewhat like .0
    describes..... It's a very enjoyable flick, in any event, Judy Davis is
    excellent. But I wouldn't describe her as centered in the movie, more
    tormented/running by/from her past, but definitely a free spirit...

    It was made by Disney and serialized on The Wonderful World of Color
    (after a run in the theaters, I think).

    I'm trying to find the name of a movie starring Anthony Andrews as the
    Scarlett Pimpernell. I think it co-stars either Jane Seymour or 
    Leslie Ann-Down and at a guess was made between 1980 and 1985.

    I saw the second half of a movie starring Andy Garcia playing twin
    brothers. It also starred Alan Arkin. It was about problems of land
    ownership between the brothers.

    The movie was Steal Big, Steal Little.
    
    I've seen it twice and enjoyed it much more the first time.  It was
    very entertaining; too bad it didn't make it in the theaters.  It
    wasn't even at the dollar theaters very long.
