651.0. "A Good Man In Africa" by 4262::HASBROUCK () Wed Sep 14 1994 18:12
A boyish British diplomat in Africa jousts with a crooked politician, a
boss from hell, an incorruptable bush doctor, and multiple partners. It's
another British bachelor comedy, really. The humor is about at the level and
pace of "Four Weddings and a Funeral". There's less romance, and charm, in
this one, and much of the Afro-Brit culture clashing is racist. And funny.
Sean Connery has a modest cameo. You expect and hope to see more of him, but
don't. John Lithgow hams it up as a fobbing British diplomat. A
visiting dutchess rants - "That accent doesn't fool me one bit".
